While the Halloween mix focused on the Nineties, this is a nod to the Seventies, namely Kolchak, with its great star Darren McGavin. Carl Kolchak was a Chicago reporter who sniffed out wild stories about the paranormal, the unexplainable and other wild, crazy stuff…all before the Internet! Thankfully, Chris Carter, Vince Gilligan and other Generation X TV writers loved this one-season, ABC show for it was "father" of The X-Files.
